Why we use Ylang-Ylang Extra...

Updated: Feb 2, 2021

Ylang-Ylang is a native plant to most of the countries surrounding the Indian Ocean; India, the Philippines, Malaysia, and some parts of Australia. Ylang-Ylang essential oil is the name of the multi-purpose oil extracted from its yellow star-shaped flower and the botanical name is Cananga odorate. They have wide use especially in the beauty industry for the production of items such as perfumes, lotion, and soaps.

Ylang-Ylang is pronounced as - ee-lang ee-lang.

Why is the Ylang-Ylang essential oil in our H.G.E formula special?

By now, the reason why we chose to introduce Ylang-Ylang essential oil to scalp care must have become obvious by now. Very few people know these benefits and those who do tend to keep their understanding to themselves. However, discovered something about our choice of Ylang-Ylang that should not be kept a secret so we have decided to use it's most purest form in our H.G.E Scalp Ointment Formula'. Our customers deserve these benefits too. Many of these benefits are backed by in depth scientific research, conducted by private and academic institutions globally.

There are different forms of this essential oil depending on the duration of the distillation process and the stage at which the fraction is collected. The first type is called "Ylang-Ylang Extra" and it is the best for skin care, but also the most expensive; not commonly sold as an ingredient in mainstream cosmetics due to it's high quality potency and cost. It is also extremely difficult to source organic Ylang-Ylang Extra, which by the way did we mention, ours is purely organic. It has the most projecting scent of the 3, but is often yielded least of the 3.

The next forms of the essential oil are numbered from 1 to 3. The number 3 is also known as 'Cananga oil' and it has the least aroma of them but because it is denser, it also lasts longer. The last form is a mixture of all the other 2 forms and it is known as the 'Ylang-Ylang Complete' essential oil.

We have done our research and we know the right quantity of each oil and extract to use in our products to soon offer you a range of world class cold-pressed scalp ointments.
